Create Your Story in 3 Sentences 5-Day Challenge

Day 4 Training - Your Wins!

Congratulations on getting your Beginning and Middle sentences written!!!

Now it's time to finish with a strong ending sentence.

The ending shows how you solved the problem and how that enabled you to win.

When talking about how you solved the problem, this is not a time for a long detailed explanation. You're looking for 2-3 main bullet points of what you did. If you included this as part of the bridge in your Middle sentence, that's fine. If not, then it needs to be at the beginning of your last sentence.

The other piece of the ending is to give 3 or maybe 4 quantifiable wins. Things like: I became happier or my business improved are nice but are not quantifiable. A quantifiable win can be measured or verified in some way.

The 3 quantifiable wins I usually include are:

  1. I was in a team ministry for 13 years
  2. I mentored 14 seminary students for 2 years each
  3. For 4 years now I have hosted a live, weekly internet radio show with listeners on every continent except Antartica

I could also have said that I designed the floor plan for the house my husband and I live in, which is also true.

Your challenge for today is to come up with a list of 10 quantifiable wins - measurable or verifiable wins that have come about AFTER you solved the problem or overcame the obstacle or challenge in your Middle sentence.

Remember to post them in the Facebook group

Also, tonight there will be a live Q & A call with me at 8 pm EDT (5 pm Pacific, 6 pm Mountain, 7 pm Central). If you are outside these USA time zones you will have to do the time conversion for yourself. It will be as a Facebook live and possibly also on zoom. More information will be in the Facebook group about this.

Day 4 Homework - Your Wins!

Today's homework, as mentioned at the end of the video, is to come up with a list of 10 quantifiable wins.  These are positive, measurable results from you solving the problem or overcoming the obstacle or challenge in your Middle sentence.

Examples:

  • a specific number of clients you helped
  • a dollar amount that you've earned that was significantly different from before your experience (higher)
  • a move you made as a result of overcoming your challenge
  • a change in career brought about by solving your problem
  • also listen to the examples from my story in the video and email

Once you have your list, choose the 3 that you'll use in your story. They should be the ones most related to solving your problem or overcoming your challenge.

Put the 3 in the Facebook group under the post for Day 4. That's where I'll be looking to see who's done the homework and who gets entered into the drawing for today's prize.
